Superb and sumptuously illustrated work produced by the gun factory Mimard & Blachon for their customers. 66 coloured plates are devoted to species of hunting dogs, with further coloured plates on Game (birds, deer, rabbits etc and the enemies of the game - stoats, squirrels etc.) as well as 10 uncoloured plates of guns. The subjects in an appropriate scene - fields, mountains, woods etc. The plates are beautifully set off within a tinted border on the generous page. - Binding rubbed and some minor wear; block shaken; a few protective leaves torn.
